Surrounded by endless outdoor recreation opportunity, our training programs aim to meet the physical demands of a truly active lifestyle. We believe that regular physical activity has the potential to act preventatively against injury and illness, while improving overall quality of life.

Black Diamond Fitness takes a professional approach to strength and conditioning, which is created and fostered by the latest scientific research and applied effectively. Workouts are designed to maximize challenge, progress, enjoyment, and of course, results. The principles of specificity, overload, and progression are respected and applied to all training protocols. Sport specific training is utilized when appropriate. We strongly endorse the inclusion of regular outdoor activity and sport in each and every training program. Coaching is delivered in a persuasive yet non-intimidating style.

About Chris

Chris Kennedy is a kinesiologist, strength and conditioning specialist, and personal trainer. He has over 5 years of professional experience and over 5,000 hours of private client instruction. His strengths lie in his ability to assess his clients' physical needs and deliver the appropriate training solution. In addition to his fitness training experience, Chris has worked in a number of physiotherapy clinics which has given him the ability to actively rehabilitate a myriad of injuries and chronic conditions. He encourages his clients to appreciate the many benefits of their health and fitness, and challenge themselves regularly with activities of their choice.

Education:

  • BSc Kinesiology, University of New Brunswick (2006)
    • (Includes 1 year of study at the University of Chichester in England with study focused in the areas of Lactate Threshold and VO2Max)
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA)
  • Practicing Member with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK)
